Each and every student in Colorado is worthy of a high-quality education with the best teachers, best programming and curriculum, best facilities, and best opportunities possible. First and foremost, that requires equitable, adequate base funding for all of our schools across the state, as well as funding that reflects the needs of each kid. Colorado students, parents, and community members want to ensure all schools have the resources that they need. We know that taking from one underfunded school to give to another is irresponsible and in no way meets long-term funding needs.

Our elected officials need to make long-term, equitable, and sustainable investments in our schools, our future workforce, and our communities. We urge Colorado lawmakers to prioritize every child by supporting equitable, sustainable funding for all schools and opposing HB-1448 as introduced. We need to prioritize our children’s future and remind lawmakers that kids matter too.
